In the spring of 2025 I took a long solo road trip across the west making my way from Alaska back to Colorado, along the way I stopped at the grand canyon to do a 20 mile trail run. This painting came from that portion of my trip. I was left feeling inspired and jaw-dropped at the immensity and (for lack of better words) grandness of the canyon, the blue waters, and wonder of the inhabitants I saw in the canyon… deer, lizards, birds, pack strings, backpackers, rafters, trail workers, and other tourists. It was truly a memorable experience.
